It was a beautiful sunny morning in Campbell River, and the perfect closing day for BC's annual Bike to Work Week. Each year, people across the province gear up to bike to work, school, or anywhere else they might be headed during the event. Participants win tons of great prizes and start their day with a social at the local breakfast stations across town.
Fridays are typically a slower day for the event, but this year we lucked out with over 75 people stopping by. Everyone was grateful for the hot coffee, delicious granola bars and snacks to start their morning.
The City of Campbell River was prepared with tons of prizes, handing them out every 5 min! Yesterday, two lucky winners won $250 gift cards to Pedal Your World as the grand prize. The best part today was watching one of the kids win his first prize. Everyone cheered him on as he picked out his new helmet.
Biking to work is good for the environment, burns calories, and saves money. Last year, the province saved over 662,000kg of CO2 emissions one week alone.
Thank you to everyone who participated this year!
