Broadstreet Properties is proud to announce that we’ve been recognized as the Sustainability Winner at the recent NRG Excellence in Energy Awards ceremony. NRG Energy is a leading energy and home services company powered by people with a passion for a smarter, cleaner, and more connected future. Their annual awards are for, “honoring our business customers who share our vision for a sustainable future and make a positive impact in the communities where we live and work.”
Broadstreet was recognized for our commitment to sustainability through our innovative EV Charging Station installation program. According to NRG, the Sustainability Award is given for, “recognizing a significant impact by going above and beyond standard sustainability practices to achieve notable environmental and social benefits.”
Together with our sister company Seymour Pacific Developments, we have built one of Canada’s largest Level 2 EV charging networks with 355 stations across 38 properties. This program has positioned Broadstreet Properties as an industry leader in offering EV infrastructure to renters across Canada.
Through the use of this network, we have delivered over 460 MWh of electricity while avoiding the creation of over 582,000 kg of greenhouse gas emissions in the process. That’s the equivalent of planning 15,000 trees and letting them grow for 10 years.
“It’s very rewarding for Broadstreet Properties to be recognized with this award” says CEO, Kris D. Mailman. “We’re very proud of our commitment to sustainability, and for being a leader in the multi-family housing industry in Canada for providing convenient EV Charging Stations for so many of our tenants.”
